    Winter Availability

Explore winter activities at Lone Mountain Ranch. Our winter season typically runs from December until early April. Following are the dates we have available for this winter. Refer to pricing information under Winter Rates.

    December

Christmas is a very special time at the Ranch. We have some space available over Christmas. Call now! With our reliable snow, December offers an excellent opportunity to start the season early. Special discounts for early and mid December!

    January

We still have availability for part of the month. January offers excellent skiing on dry powder snow. Special discounts, too!

    February

February is the most popular winter month and fills rapidly, so call soon!

    March

March still has space available. It offers excellent skiing on dependable snow with longer, warmer days. It is a favorite month for many of our return guests.

    Winter Weather

December daytime temperatures usually range from about 10-20 degrees F. Trails are generally in superb shape with plenty of snow cover. For the cross country skier wanting to squeeze the most from the ski season (and save money!), early December is the perfect time to visit. The holidays are a very busy and special time at the Ranch, and reservations must be made well in advance.

January daytime temperatures typically range from about 10-20 degrees F. Trails are in the best possible condition with excellent track skiing and frequent powder snow. Telemarking is outstanding with deep powder. We highly recommend January for powder snow lovers.

February daytime temperatures usually range from about 20-30 degrees F. Trails are in very good to excellent condition with plenty of snow. Higher afternoon temperatures can make waxing more challenging than in earlier months. Telemark skiing is usually very good.

March and early April daytime temperatures are usually in the 30's with below freezing temperatures at night. Days are longer and the snow is deep. March and April are wonderful months for "fair weather" skiers. Mid-morning telemarking on corn snow is a fantastic spring experience. Skiers in T-Shirts are a common sight during these months. Take advantage of our special spring skiing rates!
