summer, in addition to our regular staff of naturalists, we have a guest naturalist
who brings to the Ranch specialized skills and a strong desire to share his
or her knowledge with our guests.

example of this "Guest Naturalist" program is Dr. Thomas Nicholls
who introduced many of our guests to the joy of birding. By netting and banding
the many species of birds that inhabit the Ranch, guests not only learned
a great deal about migratory birds, but the banding contributed to the national
base of knowledge of birds and their habitat. Leslie Stoltz and other staff
naturalists are continuing the banding program.
