The guides at Lone Mountain Ranch are equipped with dory style drift boats. Fishing a river from a boat allows the angler to see ten to twelve miles of river in a day.

The Madison and Yellowstone Rivers are our primary destinations for float trips. Both rivers offer anglers the chance to fish over literally thousands of fish, with many opportunities to hook up with a trophy. Our guides are experienced boat operators who are able to teach very effective drift boat fishing techniques.

Float trips are full day only and entail an hour to hour and half drive. The Missouri River is another destination, which is a bit further drive from Lone Mountain Ranch, but is a consistently rewarding trip.
